Rail Corrugation & Roughness Measurement
As well as providing bespoke and customised instrumentation for particular purposes, RailMeasurement supplies three standard products for measuring rail corrugation:
- Corrugation Analysis Trolley (CAT): A portable, hand-operated instrument - weighing less than 20kg in the carrying case - typically used to measure rail for acoustics purposes and for quality assurance of rail reprofiling.
- Rail Corrugation Analyser (RCA): A vehicle-mounted instrument, designed to measure rail corrugation to accuracies sufficient to approve reprofiling work, and to determine the requirement for reprofiling of worn rail. Versions of the RCA are available to cover the full speed range 0.5-50km/h. This instrument is particularly well suited to long wavelength measurements.
- High Speed Rail Corrugation Analyser (HSRCA): A train-mounted instrument specifically designed for surveying extended lengths of track at high speed (80km/h or more).
